Taylor Swift announces new album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ at Grammys

Taylor Swift is releasing a new album, titled “The Tortured Poets Department,” on April 19.

Swift announced the upcoming release during her acceptance speech for the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album on Sunday night in Los Angeles. She noted that it was her 13th Grammy, remarking it is her lucky number (as many fans know all too well).

“I want to say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way. But I know that the way that the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans,” the “Bejeweled” singer said.

“So, I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album comes out on April 19.”

“The Tortured Poets Department” will be Swift’s 11th album.

On social media, she shared a handwritten note that read:

“And so I enter into evidence

My tarnished coat of arms

My muses, acquired like bruises

My talismans and charms

The tick,

tick,

tick

of love bombs

My veins of pitch black ink

All’s fair in love and poetry…

Sincerely,

The Chairman

of The Tortured Poets Department”

Swift fans were suspicious of a possible announcement at the Grammys, after she changed her Instagram profile to a black-and-white photo. However, the rumors centered on a possible re-recorded “Taylor’s Version” of 2017’s “Reputation.”
